this is my first collage in ages, featuring words of wisdom from lola hilda of the mahotella queens . how's that for marital advice?
in the piece: words cut out from local magazines, african print patterns from a recent issue of elle (a major look for spring-summer 08), a year-old pencil sketch, gift cards from a book of textile-pattered gift wrap, artist's plaster, gold gravel from one of marlon's ideation seminars, discounted ombre/rainbow paper that nobody was buying from a bras basah complex art store.
oh, and really crappy school glue that made my artwork kulubot. :P
i contemplated inking the sketch, but i didn't want to lose the spontaneous quality of all the extra pencil strokes.
aylahveet! hehe i thought it was a postsecret postcard at first haha. gagawa ka ba ng series? parang that's a cute gift - a set of funky marital advice postcards from cool and real people :)

ReplyDeletei would totally love working on something like that. i was just reading this book that made me think, why have i never made postcards? at hindi lang pang-gift... pwede ko pa siyang ibenta!
