Too soon

i've brought marlon to the airport many times since he left for singapore. the first time was the worst. i was with his family and i just couldn't stop crying. it's gotten easier since then, but never easy enough.

he's stopped taking the sunday afternoon flight and started taking the first flight out on monday morning, mostly so we can spend more time together. and maybe partly because it's easier to say goodbye when it's 530am and our minds are fogged with sleep.

for the first time, though, i became aware of the feeling that things go far too quickly when it's time for him to go. elevator doors open too soon, a taxi or hotel car is already waiting at the curb when we step out, there's never any traffic and cars are waved away from the departure area within two minutes.

i was happy for the week that we had, but it just feels like it ended too soon.

marlon's last weekend here was a good one. we spent it up in tagaytay at vic and cathy's house (well, it's actually vic's parents house, but whatever) with acs and sir joel, who's home from the states. will update with pics. the only blight on the weekend was this: i woke up with a start this morning and realized i left my new shoes in tagaytay. fabulous.
