Hi!
I'm Deepa, a 30 year-old freelance writer from the Philippines living in Amsterdam, by way of Singapore.
I love writing, travel and creativity. I love living in Europe, and I love being a Manila girl at heart. I love being a wife and creating things. Simply put, I love my life.
My blog is where all these loves come together and play. And when they do, I take lots of pictures and write about it.
What is this blog about?
I blog about my life: the places I go and see, the people I meet and love, the things I buy, wish for or create. I write down all the thoughts I have about all these things, and all the stories in between.
I've always blogged about my life. When I first started blogging in 2004, I was a fresh grad with a boring job and too much time on my hands—so there wasn't much to blog bout. But since then, life has gotten a lot more interesting. Good for me, great for the blog.
I've since become a writer by profession. My career is in creative services for television, but I also write for magazines, blogs, websites, advertising... anything and everything that needs writing.
I married my husband, Marlon, after four years in a long-distance relationship, and moved to Singapore. Our marriage, now going on five years, is my biggest source of happiness, fun and adventure.
In January of 2011, I moved to Amsterdam with Marlon, fulfilling my longtime dream of living in Europe. Every day has been an adventure, and I can't get enough.

Who is Currystrumpet?
That would be me. The nickname was a private joke between Marlon and myself in the earliest days of our relationship. I'm half Indian, thus "curry"; and (I'm guessing!) he found me rather... um, tempting? thus, "strumpet." Things that are silly tend to stick, and this nickname is nothing if not silly. So that's how I became Currystrumpet.
