Feeding the dream

gp recently emailed acs about a john mayer clinic held in berklee.

"I know exactly how you're feeling," [John Mayer] said, specifically to freshmen only in their second week of classes. "You get to strap your wings on now because you get to do 24 hours a day what you were fighting to do maybe 90 minutes a day, or 2½ hours a day."

He wanted them to recognize how important it was that they had decided to pursue music.

"If you're like me, half the people you talked to said, 'Go for it' and the other half said, 'Don't go for it.' You're here because you made the decision, not because there was a consensus."

this one from another article. in its november article, cosmo featured jedd tan, a filipina couture fittings model in paris. her little pearl of wisdom is much more bading, but no less true.

"Kung alam mong kaya mo, Diyos ko! 'Wag ka nang magpapigil sa nanay mo o boyfriend mo!"

is my supposedly big dream so fragile that it seeks strength from glossy magazines and forwarded emails? what small allies i have against the giants of circumstance and despair.

or is the dream growing, rearing its head, consuming more and more, that it must feed even on the pettiest and unlikeliest of sources? then, i say, let it consume me.
