Dibidi dibidi

i have a confession to make: i watched before sunset without having seen before sunrise.

i couldn't resist -- i have a laptop with a dvd drive, a comfy spot on my bed and a whole lot of time on my hands (yes ate, i'll edit your pics). and it was just lying there on my sister's bedside table. and i've always wanted to see it.

when i was done watching it, i realized it was just as well that i hadn't seen the first movie. if i had seen the whole back story of jesse and celine unfold, well, baka sumabog na ako sa kilig while watching the sequel.

i initially thought i would get all senti about europe and the people i met there (especially certain of them). much to the movie’s credit, i didn’t – there was less of paris for me to swoon over than there was of jesse and celine, the people they had become, and the connections glimmering just beneath the surface of their long, real-time conversation. i loved how the conversation was just so real and natural, how easy it was to fall in love with celine (all over again, i imagine) and how jesse seemed to have turned into a bit of a cad. i loved how each of them invariably said things in the space of a long conversation that seem to contradict other things they had said, like real people invariably do. i loved how so many “clues” could very well point to one ending as to another.

and of course i loved the romance. because i'm a romantic, naturally, and i firmly believe that jesse and celine fell into bed in her apartment and had (at least) that one more night together. how could they not?

i also firmly believe that it doesn’t matter if you miss a flight, because you can always rebook it, no matter how expensive or inconvenient. such is the wonder of modern technology.

also saw finding neverland, which provoked quite a few sniffles from me.

i went around the house putting together a small pile of dvds for me to watch over the weekend, and now i don't know what to see first. most of them i haven't seen at all, while some (like the motorcycle diaries and in the mood for love) i've seen up to a point.

spanglish
in the mood for love
the butterfly effect
A.I.
the motorcycle diaries
sex and the city season 5
sex and the city season 6 (missing a few discs though)
and i know my sister has superman 1 to 4 around here somewhere

hmmm. this requires popcorn.

  1. you should also watch A lot Like Love. Its not as cheesy as you think. Ashton Kutcher was sooo hot! Its lying around there somewhere.

  2. Hey, I did that too -- meaning watched before sunset w/o seeing before sunrise.
Didn't it make you feel like you were eavesdropping on them the whole time?
Hmm... AI is good... In the Mood for Love, in my opinion, is exquisite.

  4. nabuhay ang mga movie buffs! decided to watch in the mood for love first (absolute poetry!) then diarios de motocicleta. now wondering if watching a.i. (third movie in a row) will be overkill.

ate: hmm sige pag wala nang mapanood.

hazel: i heard it was a good movie nga, pampasira lang daw si jennifer love. i detest her with a passion :P
